Berbatov becomes Bulgaria record breaker

Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov marked becoming his country's leading goalscorer by declaring an ambition to win the UEFA Champions League this season. The Reds striker was on target twice in midweek against Malta to take his total to 48 internationals goals in 74 appearances.

Having broken Hristo Bonev's long-standing record Berbatov trained his sights on domestic affairs at Manchester United.

"I'm happy with the record because it was one of my goals.

"I've achieved a lot and now (winning) the Champions League remains my only unrealised dream.

"I took part in two finals and failed to win it so now I hope to make it third time lucky."
