Berahino to return strongly for West Brom - Irvine

West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine is expecting Saido Berahino to get back to his early-season best this weekend.

The Baggies have rested the talented 21-year old striker fir the past two games after relying on him heavily for goals in the early stages of the 2014/15 campaign.

Berahino has scored seven of Albion's 15 Premier League goals so far this term and Irvine feels he will be ready to perform against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.

"I just think there have been a lot of demands on a young lad and lots of attention from everybody and that all built up because of the goals he was scoring, and the way he was performing, and it's probably just taken its toll," said Irvine.

"Like any player he will go through spells when he is not playing so well and he went through a few weeks when he was not at the level he was before.

"I just felt it was time to give him a chance to recharge his batteries and I expect him to come back strongly again."
