Saido Berahino insists he could pen new terms with West Bromwich Albion.
The 21-year-old admitted on Friday that he might leave The Hawthorns to progress his career but didn't put a time-scale on it.
Berahino said he has not dismissed the notion of signing new terms with his boyhood club.
"It doesn't mean that at all," he maintained. "Me saying that doesn't mean I will leave this year or next year.
"No-one knows. It is just an ambition I have but no-one knows what the future holds.
"I am enjoying my football and I'm playing well at the moment and scoring goals so I'm just letting my football do the talking.
"I am still young and learning in every game. I am taking each game as it comes and I'm still a long way from where I want to be as a player."
