Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema admits he's keeping a close eye on Lyon youngster Houssem Aouar.

The 19 year-old, like Benzema, has come through OL's youth system and has attracted the attention of Real and Barcelona.

Benzema is well aware of Aouar's progress and admits speaking with Real officials about the midfielder.

"Aouar? I had already talked about him some time ago, I said he was the new prospect of OL and the next generation of the club," said Benzema.

"His beautiful season in the pros only confirms what I said about him. He is a very good player. I know him. I really like the player. He can go far."
