Benzema: Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo great friend on and off pitch

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says he and Cristiano Ronaldo enjoy a great understanding on the pitch.

Benzema has displayed impressive form this preseason.

"Cristiano and I understand each other very well. He is a friend on and off the pitch," Benzema told Madrid's official website.

"I must continue to work the way I’m working now and to perform well in games. It’s obvious that we all do our best on this team.

"I feel a lot better about myself and I work really hard in training in order to play well in our matches," he added.

"This is what the coach expects of me and I’m trying to do it."
