Karim Benzema admits the expectations at Real Madrid have shocked him.

The France striker has struggled to find his feet since arriving in the summer from Olympique Lyon and faces being overlooked in preference to strike-rival Gonzalo Higuain. Argentina international Higuain struck twice for Real in their victory over Getafe on Saturday.

"The pressure that exists at this club is crazy," Benzema told L'Equipe yesterday.
