David Bentley could be squeezed out of Tottenham at the end of this season.

The Sunday Mirror says Spurs boss Harry Redknapp's pursuit of Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing could spell the end of a brief Tottenham career for Bentley, who has failed to make a significant impact since his £15m move from Blackburn last summer.

Redknapp is keen to accommodate Croatian star Luka Modric but acknowledges that to play Lennon, Bentley and Modric in the same team leaves Spurs short of physical presence.
