Sam Allardyce says Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke would have taken extra motivation with him to Anfield for Sunday's clash with Liverpool.
The Belgian scored a match-winning brace, including an equaliser in front of the Top, as the Eagles defeated his former club 2-1 on Merseyside.
"Maybe there was a little bit more motivation for him today, because he only left last summer and for us it's more important than anything that your big man, or your front man, scores," said Allardyce on Sky Sports.
"We've been struggling at the bottom so he's been a massive, massive help to Crystal Palace moving out the danger zone."
Benteke has scored 14 Premier League goals for Palace this term with five of those coming in his last five appearances.
