Chelsea chiefs have assured manager Antonio Conte they will sign a new striker in January.
Conte is still upset over Chelsea's failure to beat Tottenham to the signing of former Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente in August.
The Mirror says a new striker signing is seen as crucial to their chances of trying to challenge on several fronts as they look to defend their domestic title amid a difficult Champions League group campaign.
Conte is not convinced by Michy Batshuayi but does like his Belgium international team-mate, Crystal Palace frontman Christian Benteke. They have also scouted Red Star Belgrade's Richmond Boakye.
