Benteke committed to Villa after Spurs refused to meet asking price

Christian Benteke decided to stay with Aston Villa after it became apparent that Tottenham would not meet his asking price.

The striker penned a new deal with Villa last week.

The London Evening Standard says Benteke agreed to a new contract, which tripled his wages to £60,000-a-week, after it became evident Spurs would not pay the £25million asking price.
