Christian Benteke admits he regrets handing in a transfer demand last year at Aston Villa.

Belgium international striker Benteke went from hero to villain at Villa Park when he demanded to quit after 23 goals in his stunning debut season.

He told the Mirror: "I don't have regrets about staying.

"Every choice I made I accept but I would not do the same mistake and everything that happened before."
