Darren Bent wants Aston Villa to return to the transfer market in January to improve their creativity in midfield.
The People says Bent will urge Alex McLeish to give him more ammunition in the transfer window.
The £24million signing from Sunderland in January goes into tomorrow's game at Spurs with five Premier League goals to his name - but is annoyed with the level of service he has received.
Bent was unhappy when Villa sold England wingers Ashley Young and Stewart Downing in the close season as it has left him devoid of crosses from the flanks.
And he is convinced that better service would help him pay Villa back some of that £24m fee.
