Darren Bent has told Sunderland teammate Jordan Henderson to forget a big club move away.
Bent says the midfielder is better served staying with the Black Cats.
"Jordan is a local lad, the fans love him, he loves being around the place, he's very strong mentally and he's become one of the strongest figures in the dressing room," Bent told The Journal. "It wouldn't surprise me if the top four or five clubs are looking at him.
"If one of the biggest teams in the country come in for him I guess it would be up to Sunderland to deal with, but if he asked me the question I would give the answer to him straight: it's far better to stay here, play a lot of games and continue your education."
