Darren Bent's possible departure from Aston Villa is nearing after he was freed of his number nine shirt.
Villa boss Paul Lambert has decided to strip the 29-year old striker of the playing strip he has worn since arriving at Villa Park from Sunderland in 2011, preferring to hand it to summer signing Nicklas Helenius.
Bent posted the following on Twitter.

Former Tottenham ace Bent, who has been linked with a summer exit, will now wear number 39 for the West Midlands club.
