Abdessallam Benjelloun's proposed transfer from Hibernian to Egyptian champions Al Ahly has fallen through. The 24-year-old Morocco international was due to complete his transfer to Al Alhy at the weekend but their board member, Khaled Mortagey, says the move will not now take place.
He told the BBC: "We have a young Algerian player called Amir Sayoud and we consider him the young Messi.
"From a technical point of view, Sayoud is much better for the team. It has nothing to do with Benjelloun - he's a great player.
"But the team needs Sayoud more for the coming season."
