Abdessalam Benjelloun has joined Egyptian outfit Al-Ahly after failing to return for pre-season training with Hibernian. Hibs boss John Hughes is disappointed he did not get the chance to work with the Moroccan forward.

"I know that he was given permission to talk to other clubs and I am disappointed that he didn't want to come back," Hughes told the Evening News.

"I want to work with players who are committed and want to play for the jersey."
