Benjani delighted to hit first Man City home goal

Benjani Mwaruwari was delighted to get his first goal for Manchester City at Eastlands.

"It was nice to get that first goal at home and I've been looking for that," the Zimbabwe striker told City's website. "I'm getting there slowly and it would be nice to get a few more goals before the end of the season."

Despite being the only Blues player signed this season with prior experience of the Premier League, Benjani has still had to get used to settling in to his new surrounds.

"Of course it's difficult, but I'm very happy and the team are getting used to me playing up front on my own," he stated. "I'm very happy with the support I've had so far. Everyone has been great, even the lads in training keep on saying it will be okay, so hopefully in the next game I'll score again.

"I'm improving and it was probably my second best game for City so I will have to play like that as many times as I can."
