Departing Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has warned his successor that Roman Abramovich calls the shots.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is expected to return to Chelsea this summer.

Benitez said: "The most important person at the club is Roman Abramovich.

"It will be good for the next manager because he will have a very good team and the owner will bring in new players.

"This is a top side challenging for trophies playing two games a week - this team will challenge for the title next year.

"You take a team in transition, with young players, and now we have left a good team with more experience, more character, scoring goals with more balance."
