Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez knows their Europa League second-leg clash with Rubin Kazan will bring bitter memories for some of his senior players.

Back at the Luzhniki Stadium tonight, John Terry missed from the spot five years ago as Manchester United celebrated on a rainy night when the eyes of the world fell upon this Soviet arena and two English teams topped European football.

"Everybody will have bad memories but for us it is about the future," said Benitez, who is set to leave at the end of the season.

"If it goes to penalties, it will have extra significance for Terry. If necessary, he will take one. But we're confident we won't need that."
