Incoming Inter Milan coach Rafa Benitez is ready to risk angering former employers Liverpool with a move for Milan Jovanovic.

Serbia international Jovanovic is off contract at Standard Liege and has confirmed he expects to join Liverpool on a Bosman next month.

However, La Repubblica says Benitez has discussed swooping for the Serb with Inter chief Marco Branca.

Jovanovic could arrive as cover for Diego Milito, who is agitating for a new contract at Inter.
