Benitez reveals Roma contact - open to Inter Milan return

Rafa Benitez won't rule out a return to Serie A - nor to Inter Milan. Benitez, who also revealed contact with AS Roma, had an ill-fated six months in charge of Inter last season.

"It was a great experience," the tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I won two trophies in six months, one of which was the Intercontinental title.

"I also had a good relationship with the fans as they always supported me.

"We'd certainly need to clear up some issues, but I don't have any problems with anyone. Maybe I could return…"

The relationship between the Nerazzurri and Benitez broke down partly as a result of the club's transfer campaign.

"A lot of promises were made to me, but they bought me nothing," continued the former Liverpool boss.

"I asked for Javier Mascherano, as well as Alexis Sanchez in January - Barcelona's big summer signing - who cost half the price back then."
