Liverpool turned down offers totalling £100 MILLION in the summer from Manchester City for their players. The Mirror says Fernando Torres could have been sold last summer to Manchester City if Benitez had accepted their offer.

The scale of City's failed raid is staggering: £70million for Torres plus and an additional £30million bid for Javier Mascherano. Benitez rejected both offers from City counterpart Mark Hughes.
