Newcastle United are odds-on favourites to win promotion back to the Premier League next season.

The Magpies were relegated late in the 2015/16 top flight campaign but Rafa Benitez's decision to stay on as manager has seen the odds slashed on the north east outfit to immediately return.

Sky Bet has the Toon at 5/2 to win the Championship title and subsequently gain automatic promotion while they are now at 4/5 just to return to the Premier League.

Sky Bet'sDale Tempest said: "I'm not sure we've seen a market move so much without a ball being kicked, with punters clearly convinced that Benitez is the man to turn Newcastle's fortunes around. "We've also priced up various Newcastle specials on request, including 14/1 on them racking up over 100 points, which they managed last time they were in the second tier."
