Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has told his players they can become legends with victory over Chelsea in tonight's Champions League semifinal.

Benitez said: "It is their chance to go up a level, to move up to the level of the great players and it is a real incentive.

"I don't even have to tell them that, I don't have to say much to them at all, because they know how massive this game is - and mentally they will be ready."

Victory tonight would see the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Anfield own-goal scorer John Arne Riise joining Paolo Maldini and Raul among the ranks of three-time Champions League finalists.

The Reds have never scored at Stamford Bridge under their Spanish manager.

But he said: "The squad are confident we can go to London and get the result we need."
