Benitez: I'll win over Chelsea fans by winning games

Interim Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is confident any fans protests will be swayed once the club begins winning matches. The Spaniard will be officially unveiled at a press conference at 5.30pm on Thursday, but spoke to Sky Sports News as he arrived at Euston Station this lunchtime.

When asked why he had agreed to return to football with the Blues, Benitez said: "I think it's a top side who want to challenge for trophies. We will think about one game at a time so we'll just try to win the next game."

There have been reports of unrest among some supporters with several claiming they will refuse to go to the next game in protest at Roman Abramovich's ruthless dismissal of previous incumbent Roberto Di Matteo.

But Benitez remains confident that victories early on in his reign will quell any fans' revolt, adding: "The fans all want the same thing as the manager - and that's to win games."
