Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was delighted with the performance of his new signings after yesterday's 3-2 victory over Werder Bremen.
Both Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun looked excellent down the flanks during the win in Switzerland, while record signing Fernando Torres was unlucky not to mark his debut with a goal.
Benitez said: "I was pleased to see us score three goals and it was nice for Torres, Benayoun and Babel to play their first games for us.
"They have only just started training with us but they looked sharp. You can see the different options we have now in attack and it's good for the team.
"It was good for the supporters to see us attacking and playing some good football. It was not so good for me as manager to see us conceding goals but there were many positives for me to take from the game.
"We needed to work hard and step up our fitness levels and that's why we changed a lot of players during the game."
