Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has hit back at the Premier League bosses who have dismissed the Reds quest to finish in the top four, reports the Daily Mirror. In a poll of all 20 Premier League bosses 16 of them tipped big-spending City to shatter the big four cartel which has been established for the past five years, and incredibly, none apparently suggested Liverpool will finish ahead of them.
"I can tell you that I'm certainly not in that 80 per cent who went for City, and I am sure we will be in the top four," Benitez explained.
"We don't need to talk. When you have an important game to play, the best way to show everyone how well you're doing is just to win. If we beat City, then it's totally different.
"It is still so early in the season. When you're talking the Premier League, it's six months, with loads of games, and everyone losing now and then so you never know. There is still time.
"I think there is time for more things to happen, and I don't think we are completely out of the title race yet. Lot's more can happen, and we have to start winning to make things totally different."
