Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez admits they're battling to land their transfer targets this summer.

Benitez made the admission in a fans Q&A.

"You have to wait, then you lose your target," he told a crowd of supporters during a special fans' question and answer meeting in Newcastle last night.

“So our first targets? We lost them. That is really important because these targets were what you needed.

“Now you are still going to have to have a list of players, we have a new head of recruitment, he's doing a great job.

“Everybody is working very hard to get what we want but it's not easy."
