Benfica are willing to sell Nicolas Gaitan in January.
The Mirror says Benfica have slashed their asking price for Gaitan in a bid to tempt Manchester United into making a move.
The Old Trafford giants have been linked to the 26-year-old Argentina midfielder for a long time, but have been unwilling to meet the £36million release clause in his contract.
Now Benfica are ready to accept around £28m for Gaitan.
The cash-strapped Portuguese club are aware that United are interested in the playmaker and are hoping that their reduced valuation of Gaitan will prompt a move in January.
