Benfica's Freddy Adu said he would love to move to Holland if his career in Portugal does not work out.
The 20-year old has struggled with Benfica since joining in 2007, having to go out on loan to French club AS Monaco last season, and it looks as though he will not be in manager Jorge Jesus' plans at the Estadio da Luz this term.
In an interview with Dutch outlet Sportweek.nl, Adu spoke of his chances of playing first team football with Benfica this season and his options if things do not work out.
"There seems to be (little chance of playing), yes," he said.
"Coach Jorge Jesus said that I was not in his plans to avoid. But I would like to play, I'm still young, let me develop.
"I would love to play in Holland. I grew up with the Dutch league. For a young foreign player is an excellent major league start of his international career.
"I would find it wonderful if I could get a chance at NAC Breda and FC Groningen. Anywhere. As long as I only have the feeling that I can develop games to play. I do not want to stop and remain standing. "
