Benfica management are resigning themselves to losing Axel Witsel this summer.
Witsel has attracted enquiries from Manchester City, AC Milan and Chelsea since the end of last season, while Real Madrid have first refusal on the Belgium midfielder.
Record says Benfica coach Jorge Jesus knows he faces a difficult task keeping hold of Witsel, who only moved to Lisbon a year ago from Standard Liege.
City boss Roberto Mancini made contact over the weekend to register his interest in a player who admits being "flattered" by the big European clubs now chasing his signature.
