Benfica refuse to budge over David Luiz's asking price.

The Mirror says Manchester City have been told to cough up £43million if they want to prize David Luiz away from Benfica.

The 23-year-old has been the star in the Portuguese giant's march to their 32nd league title, and has recently topped a Player of the Season pole in a leading newspaper.

City, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, are believed to hold an interest in the player, and this has prompted Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira, to insist that only a bid that matches the Brazilian's release clause will be enough to tempt the club into parting with their prized centre-back.
