Benfica insist no offer has been received from Real Madrid for winger Angel di Maria. In an official club statement, Benfica stated that no offer had been made for the £35 million-rated attacker.

It said: "There are no offers whatsoever that have been made to this company from any club, notably Real Madrid, company, businessman or any intermediary for the athlete Angel Di Maria.

"We are not aware of any ongoing negotiations regarding the aforementioned athlete.

"Moreover, this company has only been made aware of possible interest from other clubs in the aforementioned athlete through the various reports in the media."
