Benfica are interested in re-signing Tottenham's Ricardo Rocha.

The Eagles' new coach, Quique Flores, has identified the defensive sector as one in need of some reinforcements, and the Spurs' man seems to top his list of candidates.

The 29-year-old left Benfica to sign for the British outfit in January 2007 but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular since an ankle injury at the beginning of this campaign.

Rocha is aware his opportunities under Juande Ramos will continue being limited next season, having reportedly requested a transfer last month.

News sources in England claim Tottenham are willing to off-load the player for the right price, and Benfica seem keen on delivering the necessary figure for him.
