Benfica goalkeeper Bruno Varela is wanted by Watford.

Record says Watford are preparing a move for Varela.

With Heurelho Gomes now 37, the Hornets are keen to strengthen in goal and provide support for the Brazilian shot-stopper and believe Varela could be just what they are looking for.

The 23-year-old is not looking to force his way out of the Lisbon club, but could be tempted by the lucrative pay packages on offer in English football.

An offer is yet to be made, but the reports suggests a fee of £13m could be enough to force Benfica's hand.
