Manchester United have a deal in place for Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay, it has been reported.

A Bola says Garay is set to join United in the summer after being linked in the Portuguese press with a move to Old Trafford for some time.

The 27-year-old Benfica centre-back is being valued in the £8million class.

Garay feared the tentative agreement with United had fallen through earlier this season after David Moyes' arrival.

He declared in October: "I believed I was going to join Manchester United in the summer. The deal was nearly closed but finally Benfica did not accept the offer.

"I believe the exit of (Sir Alex) Ferguson has influenced the deal. Moyes did not believe in me as much but that's not a problem.

"I am happy at Benfica and have a lot of dreams and ambitions for this season. Now I only think about the present which is Benfica but it's never possible to discard anything in the future."
