Benfica coach Quique Sanchez Flores rejected an approach from Atletico Madrid this week.

Flores was wanted by Atletico's board as a replacement for Javier Aguirre, says A Bola, but the Spaniard turned down their offer.

After failing with their bid for Flores, Atletico turned to Abel Resino, who was named new coach on Tuesday.
