Benfica chief Rui Costa: AVB rep won't suffer from Chelsea experience

Benfica sports chief Rui Costa believes Andre Villas-Boas will recover from his sacking a Chelsea.

AVB quit Porto after leading them to an unprecedented Treble for Chelsea last summer, but was shown the door barely six months into the job.

Rui Costa told Calciomercato.it: "He is a very young coach but with great potential. He showed it last season, winning several titles for FC Porto.

"This season he had problems at Chelsea, but it is fair to say that when things go wrong, the responsibility cannot be left only with the technical team.

"I believe that his position in European football will not be affected after passing through London."
