Benfica are interested in Messina's veteran striker Cristiano Rigano.

Benfica are ready to offer £1 million for Rigano, who played his way to the fringes of the Italy squad last season despite Messina's relegation.

"I'm sure he won't stay," said Messina sports chief Marco Valentini. "For now there hasn't been direct contact, but we're ready to speak with Benfica."
