UEFA have announced that Benfica will not face disciplinary action after fans set off fireworks when the team clashed against Manchester United during their Champions League encounter at Old Trafford on October 31.
European football's governing body initially charged the Portuguese club for the behavior of their fans during the 2-0 loss against the Red Devils.
Benfica who are at the bottom of Group A in the Champions League without a point will however not face any penalties.
"The CEDB [control, ethics and disciplinary body] has decided to close the disciplinary proceedings", said a UEFA statement.
Basel were recently fined €12,000 after their fans set off fireworks before their Champions League game against United at Old Trafford in September.
French club Saint-Etienne received a €50,000 fine after their fans set off fireworks during their Europa League round-of-32 clash against United at Old Trafford in March.
