Benfica have all but accepted they've missed out on Manchester United fullback Fabio da Silva.

The Sun says the Brazilian full-back looked to be on his way to the Portuguese giants for next season.

But Benfica have claimed Fabio, 21, has made a U-turn and wants to stay in the Premier League.

Fabio believes regular first-team football in England will boost his long-term chances at Old Trafford.

And the news has alerted QPR boss Mark Hughes, who wants to bring him to Loftus Road on a season-long loan deal.
