Benevento veteran Bacary Sagna has jumped to the defence of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger took Sagna to Arsenal before he left for Manchester City.

Now with Serie A minnows Benevento, the French fullback said: "Wenger, he's a great coach, I love him.

"There's a lot of respect for this manager in France, it was always a pleasure to play for him - and for Arsenal."

Sagna has settled quickly at Benevento and gave this interview in Italian.

"I already spoke Spanish, so it was very easy," he smiled.
