Bendtner wants to stay as Arsenal striker: My real position

Arsenal ace Nicklas Bendtner hopes he continues to play as striker after his hat-trick against Porto.

At the start of the season, Bendtner was being used by manager Arsene Wenger in a wide role. But the player prefers to operate in a central position.

He said: "I am happy to play as a centre-forward because that is my real place.

"Early in the season, before my injury, I was being played out wide - and that of course is fine, but it is not where I belong.

"Now I get a lot of chances to score in the middle, which I don't get on the wing."
