Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner insists Sunderland are better than their position suggests.

The Black Cats are only two points above the dropzone.

"I see more potential, and that was why I chose the club," said the on-loan Dane. "I think we're a top ten team.

"We have some decent young talent, and if the manager believes that we must strengthen the squad with some more players, then he'll do it naturally.

"Competition is always health, I experienced this at Arsenal. So it will only be positive."
