Nicklas Bendtner had mixed emotions after a losing debut for Sunderland against Chelsea.
The forward played the full 90 minutes of the game, after sealing his loan move from Arsenal, and he is keen to make more progress with his new team.
"You're never happy when you come off the pitch and your team haven't won, so I want to win and I want to put myself among the goals," he told safc.com.
"I was happy to be able to set up the goal today but I would have liked to have hit the target with my first half header.
"We can see today what the fans expect of us, so hopefully we can make up for that next week."
