Bendtner instant Arsenal hero with stunning Euro hat-trick
Nicklas Bendtner became an instant Arsenal hero with a stunning hat-trick in tonight's victory over Porto.
Bendtner's hat-trick helped Arsenal make history on Tuesday night, his goals seeing the Gunners to a 5-0 win over Porto on the night - 6-2 on aggregate - and into the last eight of the Champions League.
Arsene Wenger's men, without the influence of injured pair Cesc Fabregas and William Gallas, came back from an opening-leg deficit in a European tie for the first time since 1978.
Bendtner made up for his wastefulness at the weekend by scoring twice in the first half - both after good work from Andrey Arshavin.
Samir Nasri scored a fine indivudual goal to make it 3-0 after Porto had threatened to fight back in the early stages of the second half.
Emmanuel Eboue grabbed the hosts' fourth before Bendtner completed his treble at the death from the penalty spot.

Fox in the box! Guess none of you here are clever enough to know that we were begging for this type of striker for ages. Great job.
Bendtner made amends in style after the horrible misses at Burney!
But I must add that Arshavin must share the credit! He was
the unselfish architect of the two Bendtner goals. Marvelous
combination. Nasri was awesome in his goal scoring after dribbling
through three defenders! It was such a joy to watch the goal he
scored. Eboue has improved so much. Overall, the whole team did
proud to Arsenal and justified Arsene Wenger's belief in these
young players. A splendid and well deserving victory! Now to move
forward in both fronts! One game at a time. Let's not take it easy.
good to see him finally putting all those chances away
he usually does all the hard work but cant finish in the end but lets hope now his confidence is through the roof and he can smash in many more and make the end of the season really interesting for arsenal
