Benayoun wants Liverpool stay

Yossi Benayoun is set to resist interest from Portsmouth and Manchester City to stay at Liverpool.

The winger has been told he will remain a squad player at Liverpool next season but says he still wants to stay at Anfield, says the News of the World.

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp wants Benayoun to put pressure on John Utaka on the right of midfield, while Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has a minor rebuilding job on his hands at Eastlands.
