Benayoun: I'll prove worth at Liverpool

Yossi Benayoun has vowed to make amends after his spot-kick miss for Liverpool in Friday's Asia Trophy final defeat to Portsmouth.

"It was unfortunate not to score but apart from that everything has gone so smoothly and I've settled in really quick. There's a lot of good guys at this club and I'm really enjoying my time here," Benayoun told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"All the players have been together now for nearly two weeks. It's a long time to be away from home but it's really helped the new boys gel with the established and the team spirit is fantastic.

"It's always hard when you come to a new club and don't really know anyone. Obviously I've played against these players many times but the only one I knew personally was Javier Mascherano and, unfortunately, he was away with Argentina at the Copa America.

"Those first few days can be a bit daunting but everyone has treated me really well and I'd like to thank them for that. I think what also helped was the fact that I wasn't the only new player.

"There were four us and at the start we tended to stick together. Now we know everyone very well and have more confidence. I feel like I have been at the club for a very, very, long time already."
