Medhi Benatia is targeting plenty of glory in his first season with Juventus.

The 29-year-old defender has joined the reigning Serie A champions from German giants Bayern Munich on an initial season-long loan with the view to a permanent deal.

Morocco international Benatia, 29, returns to Italian football following stints with Udinese and AS Roma and insists there are a number of trophies he is eager to help the Bianconeri lift in 2016/17.

"I'm here to get ready as fast as I can for the coming season," he said at the pre-match press conference for Tuesday's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur in Melbourne.

"There goals we have for this season are very high. Not only in the national arena with the Italian league and Italian Cup, but also in the international arena (Champions League).

"So we have to win everything…"

Benatia has been fast-tracking his pre-season fitness regime in a bid to settle quickly with his new club who will meet a quality Spurs outfit in the second Melbourne match of the 2016 International Champions Cup.

"I'm ready to play tomorrow," added Benatia.

"I've been training with the team for 10 days and I feel good about it, we've been training well.

"Tomorrow is an important match as it was with the Melbourne (Victory) team on Saturday night.

"It's important to win. Even though it's a friendly match we must approach it as if it was an official game and play our best.

"Tottenham is a good team, They've done well last season in the Premier League.

"This season they are going to play Champions League as well so we know they are a good quality team with quality young players."
