Ben Garner is delighted with his move to West Brom.
The former Crystal Palace coach has joined the Baggies backroom.
"In the short term I want to do whatever I can to help the team to improve and push up the table," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"In the longer term I want to help the club grow as a Premier League force.
"I'll be coaching the first team as well as taking a hands on role in analysis and also recruitment.
"Tony was great to work with at Palace from the moment he came in and I spent that season working for him.
"I got my head down and got on with the job and Tony must have liked what I brought to the role.
"He is a very straight guy, an experienced manager with very strong principles."
